Alice in Wonderland themed Birthday present wrapping for a friend.
This is quite pretty. One would hardly want to ruin it!

The illustration is by Inga-Karin Eriksson.
It’s of Alice Liddell and Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) from the book The Other Alice: the Story of Alice Liddell and Alice in Wonderland.

My mom got me a box of matches while in Boston.
This reminds me of this quote:
`for it might end, you know,’ said Alice to herself, `in my going out altogether, like a candle. I wonder what I should be like then?’ And she tried to fancy what the flame of a candle is like after the candle is blown out, for she could not remember ever having seen such a thing.

Lewis Carroll’s Hammond no. 1 typewriter
by the way I found this picture on a website devoted to writers and their typewriters. Which exists. Which is awesome.

Tonight was the first night working on the walls of the bookstore, here’s a progress picture.
These are based on Tenniel’s illustrations, I don’t take credit for the original artwork.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have many options of colors based on budget and time constraints. I’m aware that it doesn’t look so great now (poor cheshire looks a little fucked), I’m sure I’ll get a chance to improve on it tomorrow.
Regardless, being alone in bookstore until 4am is such a privilege! It makes me realize how much time I’ve been wasting on human interaction, when the intimacy I crave can be satisfied with a paintbrush. Good to have found myself again.
Honest feedback is appreciated.I think it looks great! Alice looks like she just popped out of the Tenniel illustrations. I think the cat’s turning out good.
I would love to shop in a bookstore with Alice murals
